WASHINGTON (AP) -- Crowds are gathered on the National Mall in Washington, listening to speeches commemorating the 50th anniversary of the civil rights march that featured the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.'s I Have a Dream speech. The original March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom was held on Aug. 28, 1963.

NBC Charlotte's Glenn Counts is in Washington D.C. to cover the events.
