CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A man escaped after allegedly robbing a Charlotte bank Thursday.

Detectives are investigating the incident that happened in the 1700 block of Sardis Road North around 4:15 p.m.

Police say he entered the BB&T at that location and demanded money from the teller. He fled on foot.

The man is described as a heavy set black male, about 5-foot-7. He was last seen wearing a black zip-up jacket, dark pants and a black toboggan.
