ALEXANDERCOUNTY, N.C. -- An investigation into reports of indecent liberties with a child led authorities in Alexander County to make two arrests in two separate incidents.

Joshua Michael Betzina, 22, was accused of sexual assault with a minor back in late November, prompting an investigation by the Alexander County Sheriff's Office and Taylorsville Police.

Betzina was arrested in mid-December and charged with one count of indecent liberties with a child by the Taylorsville Police Department.

Betzina was booked in to the Alexander County Detention Center under a $9,999 bond.

While investigating Betzina, 29-year-old Kyle Rayvon Shepherd, of Taylorsville, was developed as a suspect in a separate incident.

Shepherd was arrested on Monday and charged with one count of indecent liberties with a child. He was booked in to the Alexander County Detention Center under a $20,000 bond.
