LANCASTER, S.C. -- Lancaster police arrested a man accused of robbing a Wells Fargo on Wednesday afternoon.

Police said 40-year-old Kevin Herman Cole approached a teller and presented a note demanding money and advising that he had a gun at the Wells Fargo on Main Street around 1 p.m.

As this incident unfolded, two officers were in their vehicles, at the intersection of North Main Street and Woodland Drive, just adjacent to this intersection of the bank.

Officers were able to identify and stop Cole as he attempted to leave the area in a vehicle of his own. Additional officers converged on the area and Cole was taken into custody.

Cole was transported to the Municipal Justice Center where he was charged with one felony count of entering a bank with the intent to steal.
