Police seize marijuana plants from Iredell home
IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. -- Police say they found a marijuana drug grow operating inside an Iredell County home.
Deputies responded to the 110 block of Windbrook Drive Friday night to provide an escort following a domestic disturbance incident, according to the sheriff s office.
While waiting for the woman inside the home, police say they noticed the smell of marijuana.
When questioned, 54-year-old John Joseph Lovell admitted to having a baggie of marijuana and gave consent to allow his house to be searched, investigators say.
Officers allege they found a small grow room with marijuana plants, pots, fertilizer and heat lamps. Detectives seized all of the items as evidence.
Lovell now faces several drug charges.
He was booked into Iredell County Jail under a $10,000 secured bond.
