CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- A woman has been sentenced to 39 years in prison in the death of a romantic rival who was shocked with a stun gun then drowned in a bathtub.

A judge said Tuesday that Heather Camp needed a substantial sentence to punish her for lying to investigators.

Camp pleaded guilty but mentally ill to murder last month. Ethan Mack, the man prosecutors say killed 28-year-old Kate Waring, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Prosecutors say Camp deserved a longer sentence because she convinced Mack to kill Waring and lied to investigators after agreeing to help them.

Camp's lawyer says she deserved credit for leading police to Waring's body and she couldn't tell the same story twice because of her mental illness.
