CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A local man accused in a deadly drag racing crash two years ago is set to go on trial Monday.

Police say 23-year-old Tyler Stasko was racing another driver along N.C. Highway 49 near Lake Wylie at speeds up to 100 miles an hour.

Officers say his car slammed into another car killing a woman and her 2-year-old daughter.

A 13-year-old in Stasko's car also died in the crash.

Stasko is charged with three counts of second-degree murder.

If convicted he could spend the rest of his life in prison.

The driver who police say was racing against Stasko -- Carlene Atkinson -- wasn't involved in the wreck.

But she's also been charged with three counts of second-degree murder.
