CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Two men were injured when they were hit on Interstate 77 Friday morning.

The incident happened on I-77 south at the Brookshire Boulevard around 6 a.m.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said two men were changing a tire on the side of I-77 when a vehicle passing by hit them. The driver in the car kept driving, police said.

MEDICtransported two people from the scene to Carolinas Medical Center. One victim suffered life-threatening injuries and the second victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Police are still investigating and have not yet made any arrests in the incident.
