DURHAM, N.C. (AP) -- Authorities at North Carolina Central University have identified a person of interest they would like to talk to in connection with shots being fired on the campus.

A statement released by the school Friday said campus police are also looking for additional individuals for questioning. A person identified by the school as the intended target has been questioned by police.

Police believe the suspect or suspects fled from the scene in a champagne-colored 4-door Chevrolet Impala.

School officials placed the campus on lockdown after police received reports of shots being fired on the northwestern edge of the Durham campus near a dormitory and classroom buildings. No one was injured.
