CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Rush hour traffic is always a challenge in uptown Charlotte.

It was a harder challenge Tuesday morning after officials allowed the closing of some streets to film a television program.

The Charlotte Department of Transportation has apologized for the delays. Agency director Danny Pleasant says he will review how his department handles such requests in the future.

Pleasant says Charlotte wants to accommodate the film industry. He says there was some confusion about the timing on the street closures and the filming.

The crew was filming a pilot for a show called The Novice. The filming was a one-day event.

Some downtown workers got advance notice of the shutdown.
