CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Alert witnesses and expeditious police work led to the quick apprehension of a suspected armed robber.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officers responded to an armed robbery call at a 7-11 in the 10700 block of Reames Road early Wednesday morning.
The store clerk told officers a black male suspect entered the store, demanded money and fled the scene on foot.
A detailed description of the suspect was quickly distributed to officers, and a suspect matching the description was located a short time later.
Officers have identified Andonus Purvis as the suspect and have charged him with robbery with a dangerous weapon.
