LANCASTERCOUNTY, S.C. -- The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man they say is posing as a co-owner of a roofing company, collecting money for jobs and not completing the work.

The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office said Friday they've apprehended 43-year-old Harvey Paul Laney.

Laney is charged with three counts of breach of trust of over $2000, the Sheriff's Office says, and additional cases are still pending.

Investigators say Laney poses as the co-owner of Carolina Roofing, a company which is listed in the Yellow Pages.

Laney has taken meetings with prospective clients on at least three occasions on the last month, investigators say, quoted a price and collected a percentage of the cost up front, then never returned to complete the work.
