CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are warning residents in the University City Division about an increase in garage break-ins.

Police say residents should keep garage doors secure, even if they are outside working in the yard.

Police say some residents have reported break-ins while they were working in their back yards.

If you see suspicious activity in your neighborhood, call police.
