CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Chantilly Neighborhood Association is warning residents to stay away from raccoons.

A resident's dogs had to be euthanized after fighting with a raccoon that tested positive for rabies.

The dogs were not up to date on their rabies shots, according to announcement made by the neighborhood association.

A free rabies clinic is provided by the county on the second Saturday of every month. For more information, visit
