GOLDSBORO, N.C. -- A retired Duke Energy plant came tumbling down Friday.

The H.F. Lee Steam Plant in Goldsboro, N.C. was one of seven retired sites in the state.

The decommissioning program for each plant takes time to prepare. After more than a year-and-a-half of preparation, the H.F. Lee building was imploded.

The smoke stacks were already imploded in December of last year.

Duke says getting rid of older plants allows for more efficiency.
