MOORESVILLE, N.C. -- Interstate 77 northbound in Mooresville reopened around 1 p.m. Tuesday after a tractor-trailer caught fire.

A tractor-trailer hit a guardrail and caught fire around 3:30 a.m. at mile marker 35. No one was injured in the accident.

I-77 northbound was shut down from exit 33 to exit 36 for nearly 10 hours while crews worked to clear the scene.

More than 20 firefighters responded to the scene to put out the fire.
