GASTONIA, N.C. -- A Gastonia man allegedly caught with more than a thousand dollars worth of drugs has been arrested.

Police pulled over a man on a moped around 9 a.m. Monday near East Garrison Boulevard and Dogwood Drive.

Michael Gower, 26, was carrying $1,200 in narcotics, according to the Gastonia Police Department.

Officers say they also seized a concealed handgun with four rounds of ammo.

He is charged with a drug violation and weapon law violations.
