MORGANTON, N.C. -- The City of Morganton is planning to begin work Wednesday on a waterline repair that may leave some customers high and dry.
Beginning at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, crews will begin work on the waterline in the area of 319 West Union Street.
The repair could take up to 24-hours to complete, officials say, and some customers may end up without water while the repairs are made.
The City of Morganton says some customers may experience discolored water while the repairs are in progress; crews will flush the mains to minimize discolored water, however, customers may need to flush their own service lines. Authorities do not anticipate any problems with the safety of drinking water.
Motorists should also beware of possible congestion in the area.
