The witness confronted the suspect, according to police, who then quickly walked away. The witness attempted to follow the man, but was also able to call 911 and alert store employees.

A loss prevention officer was able to retrieve video surveillance of the suspect, who was seen leaving in a red GMC four-door pickup with chrome bumpers and step rails. Police say there are three decals on the rear window. A tag number was not available.

The suspect is described as a heavy set white male with a light complexion, standing about 6-foot-tall, with short strawberry blonde or red hair. He was seen wearing a red sleeveless t-shirt with a shield logo on the front, khaki shorts and flip flops.

If you have any information that may assist law enforcement in this case, you're asked to call Statesville Police or Crime Stoppers at (704) 662-1340.
