CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte will host a special screening of the movie 'Hunger Games,' NewsChannel 36 has learned.
An invite-only early screening of the highly anticipated upcoming movie will be shown on March 21 for special ticket holders to serve as a thank you for allowing production to be shot in the area.
The movie was filmed in various North Carolina cities, as well as uptown Charlotte, Shelby and Concord, among others.
Hunger Games includes actors Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Donald Sutherland, and Lenny Kravitz. Popular actress Jennifer Lawrence plays the lead role of Katniss Everdeen, a young girl who takes her sister's place in a real-life survival contest.
