CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- One person was injured in a multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 77 Monday morning.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said one person suffered non-life threatening injuries after being invovled in a five-vehicle accident on I-77 south near Tyvola Road.

The accident caused major delays for commuters early Monday morning. At one point, traffic was backed up two miles.

Commuters are still being advised to take Tryon Road or South Boulevard.
