CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The fight against the flu is still a major concern in the Carolinas, while the number of cases appears to be falling in the Southeast.

In North Carolina, flu activity is still high. Last week, nine more people died after getting sick with the flu.

That brings the total deaths to 31 this season.

In South Carolina, there's been some progress in stopping the spread of the virus; it's now at a moderate level.

Three more people have died there, bringing the total to 22 total deaths.
