RED SPRINGS, N.C. (AP) -- Two people are dead and two have been hurt in shootings near the rural Red Springs community in Robeson County.

Sheriff Kenneth Sealey says a woman called 911 late Wednesday afternoon saying her husband was threatening to shoot her. She called back a few minutes later saying shots had been fired.

When deputies got to the scene they found two women had been shot to death. Two men were wounded.

The sheriff says the shootings are thought to have resulted from a domestic dispute

Authorities are not releasing the names of those involved until relatives can be notified.
