KINGSMOUNTAIN, N.C. -- A man died after being stabbed in Kings Mountain overnight.

Kings Mountain police were called to a home off of Groves Street around midnight.

When officer arrived on scene they found 25-year-old Octavius Leon Thomas suffering from a stab wound in the front yard of the home.

Thomas was taken to Gaston Memorial Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Police said Thomas and a second man at the house were horse playing with knives when Thomas suffered the fatal stab wound.

The investigation is still ongoing, and there has not been any arrests in the incident.
