CONCORD, N.C. -- The Calvary Lutheran Church congregation is celebrating 100 years.

Sunday, dozens of people from all over the area came together for a special worship service and centennial luncheon.

A reverend for the church says they're honoring the church's past and looking forward to another hundred years.
Of course we have goals to increase our involvement in the community, and our mission is to grow in faith and service. That's really where we focused ourselves, said Debbie Fyre.

Calvary Lutheran church first opened in March 1913 with 36 charter members.
