CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Students were transported by ambulance as a precaution after a school bus was involved in a crash Tuesday afternoon.

Around 2:30, Charlotte Fire and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police responded to the intersection of South Mint Street and West Summit Avenue for an accident involving a school bus.

MEDIC sae patients have been transported to CMCMain with minor injuries, while one more was taken to Novant Health with minor injuries.

Charlotte Mecklenburg School officials tell NBCCharlotte three students and the bus driver were transported with non-life threatening injuries.

There were a total of four students on the bus. The bus was #1305 from the Performance Learning Center.

Traffic delays are expected in the area.
