CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Four schools in north Charlotte were placed on lockdown Monday afternoon due to police activity.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said officers were following a stolen vehicle when the suspects in the vehicle jumped from the car and ran in the area near four school campuses.
Vance High School, James Martin Middle School, Nathaniel Alexander Elementary and John M. Morehead Stem Academy were all placed on lockdown.
All four schools were placed on lockdown a little after 2 p.m. They were all lifted off lockdown around 3:30 p.m.
Police are still investigating the incident.
