GASTONIA, N.C. -- One of two people accused of running over a pedestrian in Gastonia has been arrested.
Man turns himself in for Gastonia hit-and-run
Police say neither driver stopped to help John Wayne King, 33, who died as a result of his injuries.
Jerry Kent Orrell, 31, turned himself in and has been cooperating with investigators. Police say he drove the white SUV that struck King.
Orrell is charged with second-degree murder, felony hit-and-run, driving while license revoked and reckless driving.
Detectives are now examining his Ford Explorer for evidence.
The driver of the second vehicle is still at large.
