HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. -- Two employees of Earnhardt-Ganassi Racing were arrested for drug charges on Tuesday and have been fired.
According to police, Trevor Lysne and Jerome Frey were arrested in connection with a drug bust that netted 10.5 pounds of marijuana that had been shipped from California.
Lysne, 40, is a pit crew member for Juan Pablo Montoya and Frey, 27, is a part-time racer and mechanic for EGR.
I am extremely disappointed with the news that we received about two of our crew members, Chip Ganassi said. We have a zero tolerance policy in this organization and effective immediately both individuals employment has been terminated.
Lysne is charged with trafficking marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and maintaining a dwelling to distribute marijuana.
Frey is also charged with trafficking marijuana and possession with intent to sell and deliver.
Lysne was released on a $30,000 secured bond. Frey was released on a $25,000 secured bond.
