LOWELL, N.C. -- School officials say students were evacuated from Lowell Elementary School following a bomb threat on Friday morning.
The threat came in the form of a message written on the wall of a bathroom, prompting administrators to call in the Cramerton Police Department.
A bomb dog assisted Cramerton, Lowell, Ranlo and Gaston County Police Departments, along with the Gaston County Sheriff's Office and North Carolina Highway patrol in sweeping the building.
Two sweeps were done by the bomb team before students were allowed to reenter.
No suspicious items were found, and authorities have not identified a suspect.
Lowell Elementary School is located in the 1500 block of Power Drive in Lowell.
If you have any information that may assist investigators, please call Cramerton Police Chief Greg Ratchford at (704) 824-7964.
