DAVIDSON, N.C. -- A Hough High School student was hit by a vehicle and injured Friday morning in Davidson.

Authorities said the incident was reported around 7:15 a.m. on Robert Walker Drive near Davidson-Concord Road.

Medic said the student had life-threatening injuries, and Med Center Air is airlifting the teen to a trauma center for treatment.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools official the incident did not happen at a bus stop.

CMS officials were told by authorities that the 10th grader was struck by the mirror of a passing pick-up truck.
