CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- Investigators say one man is dead and two people have been injured after a shooting in downtown Charleston.

Police said the shootings happened around 2 a.m. Sunday. All three victims were taken to the hospital in different cars.

Authorities say a man died at the Medical University of South Carolina a short time after the shootings. The other two victims were expected to survive.

Police wouldn't talk about a motive for the shootings or release other details. No arrests have been made.
