LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. -- Officials may have a lead in their search for a missing dog.

The Lincoln County Sheriff s Office have identified and spoken with a suspect after Boh went missing from a local cemetery.

The German Shepherd belongs to a couple living next door to the Lincolnton property. Boh often comforts mourners visiting grave sites. He was last seen in late February.

The suspect told investigators she found the dog and took him to a shelter in Greensboro, but he jumped out of her vehicle on Highway 73 in Cornelius.

Police continue to check into the woman s story.

No charges have been filed.
