MATTHEWS, N.C. -- Harris Teeter is lowering prices!

The Matthews-based grocery chain announced Wednesday a campaign to lower prices in the Charlotte and Asheville markets.

Over the years, our customers have asked us to lower our prices, and we ve listened by introducing various pricing and promotional strategies which drive value to them, said Catherine Becker, communication manager for Harris Teeter. This new program is the big change our shoppers have been asking for.

Some examples of reduced prices are:

  • Nature Valley Granola Bars - now $2.65 each; customers save $0.80 each
  • Oscar Mayer Deli Shaved Lunchmeat- now $3.79 each; customers save $1.00 each
  • Hot House Tomatoes now $1.49/lb.; customers save $1.50/lb.
  • Rotisserie Chicken* now $5.99 each; customers save $1.00 each *4.99 on Sundays

The company says their recent merger has achieved better efficiencies , and the company has chosen to reinvest those savings into, among other things, lower prices for our customers .

Harris Teeter says all other promotions, like Super Double Coupons and the VIC cards will not be impacted by the new lower price campaign.
