MAIDEN, N.C. --A tip from the public resulted in a Lincoln County man s arrest in a robbery investigation.
Tip leads police to suspect in Maiden pharmacy robbery
The call led police to a house in the 3300 block of Falcon Ridge Road Friday evening.
Officers were given consent by the suspect and other residents to search the house and car. Detectives reportedly found $1,400 in cash and oxycodone and suboxone in the suspect s bedroom, as well as some marijuana in the home.
Police say Brown ran from the residence during the search but was arrested after a foot chase through a wooded area.
The investigation started after an unknown man handed a threatening note to pharmacists at TAS Drug on Island Ford Road on Monday. Police say the suspect, now identified as Brown, demanded drugs and fled the scene. Some of the $2,500 worth of drugs Brown allegedly took were recovered.
He is now faces robbery and drug trafficking charges. He was placed in the Lincoln County Detention Center under a $150,000 bond. An addition $200,000 secured bond was added for a separate robbery in Catawba County.
Maiden Police and the Lincoln County Sheriff s Office worked together on the investigation.
