DA to seek death penalty in slain firefighter case
ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. -- The Rowan County District Attorney s Office will seek the death penalty against two men allegedly involved in a man s murder.
The district attorney is asking for the sentence for Jaylend Daquann Turnerand Khari Dewayne McClelland.
Both suspects are charged with murder in the death of Marcus Kauffman. The volunteer firefighter was shot during an alleged burglary at his house in early December. He died when he was removed from life support.
Kauffman left behind a wife, who gave birth to a son in February.
Tramel Hart and Michael Teasley were charged as accessories.
