CHARLOTTE, N.C. The Charlotte Mecklenburg Library board named a new Chief Executive Officer on Monday.
Lenoir C. Lee Keesler Jr. will begin overseeing the library on July 1, the organization announced Monday.
Keesler is the former President and CEO of the Arts & Science Council of Charlotte-Mecklenburg from 2004 to 2009, and spent many years in banking. He is currently Director of Market Development at Barry, Evans, Josephs & Snipes, a national insurance and executive benefits firm.
I am honored that the Library Board has chosen me for this job, Keesler said in a statement. This is a great moment to be joining the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library. It is an organization whose mission of delivering literacy, educational success, and workforce development is vitally important to the community.
Keesler is the second CEO in the library s history, following Vick Phillips who began in January 2011.
The Charlotte Observer reports Keesler will earn roughly $180,000 per year.
