UNIONCOUNTY, N.C. -- Four people are facing felony drug and shooting charges in Union County Thursday, following a standoff with police and later the discovery of $1,500 worth of heroin near the home where the standoff occurred.

Michael Cameron Hernandez, his brother Joseph Shane Hernandez and Wendy Cheryl Wright were arrested on the charges after a shots-fired call at 4 a.m. Tuesday led police to surround Michael Hernandez s home at 6104 Pageland Marshville Road, according to a news release from the Union County Sheriff s Office.

Authorities also issued warrants for a fourth person, Jennifer Leigh Mangum, involved in the case.

Deputies first responded to a report of gunshots being fired at an unidentified victim s home at 3909 Philadelphia Church Road in Marshville. Police didn t find anyone with injuries, but noticed the house had been shot several times, the release said.

By noon Tuesday, the Sheriff s Office tactical team was able to get into the house and search the residence. The Hernandez brothers were found there and arrested on charges of shooting into an occupied dwelling and drug possession. Michael Hernandez was also charged with three counts of trafficking in opium.
