LINCOLNTON, N.C. (AP) -- Authorities have captured an inmate Thursday night after he escaped from a work release program in Lincoln County earlier in the day.

The N.C. Department of Corrections said 38-year-old Ronald Billings was last seen around 2:45 p.m. Thursday at a work location in Lincolnton.

Officials said Billings was captured by officers in Conway, South Carolina just before 10 p.m. Thursday night and is now in custody at the Horry County Jail. Police also said that an alleged accomplice, Delora Miller, is facing charges of aiding and abetting escape.

Officials said Billings was serving a seven-year prison sentence for breaking and entering, forgery and other property crimes. His projected release date is February 2015.
