Authorities say the home was vacant at the time, and water and electricity was not even connected.

The home's owner says he uses it as a rental, but that it'd been vacant for some time. He continued that the home had been victim of vandalism, and he'd filed several recent reports with law enforcement.

The home was destroyed in the fire. Officials say the damages are estimated around $50,000.

An investigation continues.
