ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) -- Duke Energy is promising to replace equipment after four power outages have been reported in Rock Hill in less than six weeks.

City officials said that the Duke Energy feed to one of the city's substations had failed five times in the past eight months. The city has its own utility division, but gets almost all its power from Duke Energy.

The power failures have happened in different parts of the city and affected several thousand customers at a time.

Duke Energy spokesman Ryan Mosier says the company will replace a transformer at the substation and meet with the mayor and city manager to discuss any other concerns.
