CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A device believed to be a grenade found at a Charlotte office has been deemed harmless.

Police said they were investigating hazardous conditions in the 2400 block of Yorkmont Road Thursday afternoon.

Hazmat teams first said they recovered an inert grenade. Later police called it a toy.

Maintenance crews found object and called police.

Police say no one was ever in serious danger.
