MOORESVILLE, N.C. -- Fire crews had to carry water to fight a woods fire in Mooresville on Saturday.

At 2:20 Saturday afternoon, Mooresville Fire and Rescue responded to a fire behind a home in the 100 block of Oxford Drive.

Authorities say about an acre of a wooded lot was involved at the time of their arrival.

Crews were able to bring the fire under control and secure a containment perimeter to keep the flames from spreading to neighboring lots. Authorities say firemen had to carry water in water packs to assist with the extinguishment efforts.

The fire was contained to three acres.

No injuries were reported.

Mount Mourne and Shepherds Fire Departments assisted with manpower and equipment.

There's no word on what caused the fire.
