GASTONIA, N.C. -- Police in Gastonia say a man was hit twice while trying to cross the street.
Pedestrian hit twice, drivers flee Gastonia scene
It happened on East Long Avenue near Broad Street.
Neither driver stopped to help 53-year-old John Wayne King.
He was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries around 8 p.m.
Police say the driver of a white SUV hit him first, and then a witness saw a small sedan strike him a second time.
