CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Two dogs were killed in a house fire in the Plaza Midwood neighborhood late Thursday morning.

The fire broke out at a home off of Nassau Boulevard around 11 a.m. When firefighters arrived on scene there was smoke coming from the home.

Firefighters were able to get the fire under control quickly. Officials said two dogs were killed during the fire, but no people were injured.

Fire officials are still investigating the cause of the fire.
