SALISBURY, N.C. -- Rowan County officials told NBC Charlotte that numerous fire departments were fighting a raging fire at the Grimes Mill Museum on Church Street Wednesday night.

Dispatchers said that the first 911 call came in just before 10 p.m.

There were no reports of injuries but firefighters were still working to contain the four-alarm fire well after midnight. As of 5 a.m., crews were still trying to put out a few flames.

The building, built in 1896, hosts several events throughout the year and is available for tours.

Firefighters do not yet know how the fire started.
