CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Sunday marked an important milestone for the Humane Society of Charlotte.

The organization celebrated its 35th birthday with a party at Freedom Park.

We re proud of being part of the community and partnering with other groups here in the community to really make it better for animals and their people here in Charlotte. said Shelly Moore with Humane Society.

The organization has also put together a birthday wish list for items needed at the shelter. If you're interested in giving a birthday gift, click here.
