TROUTMAN, N.C. -- Two brothers are behind bars after a traffic stop in Troutman.

On Wednesday, August 15, a Troutman Police officer noticed that a vehicle drove left of the center line several times on Eastway Drive.

The officer activated his lights and siren, but police say the driver of the car, Brandon Adams, 27, failed to stop.

Finally, police say, the vehicle came to stop near Town Hall.

A short scuffle ensued with the passenger, Keith Adams, 28, when police say he reached into the waistband of his pants. Officers thought Keith was reaching for a weapon, but later, they say, learned he was attempting to destroy crack cocaine and marijuana he had hidden on his person.

Keith was arrested and charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, possession of marijuana and resist, obstruct, or delay an arrest. His bond was set at $50,000.

His brother, and the driver of the vehicle, Brandon, was charged with misdemeanor flee or elude and was issued several citations. His bond was set at $1500.
