DAVIE COUNTY, N.C. -- A deputy and his K-9 partner were wounded during a hostage situation in Davie County Wednesday.

WFMY reports it started when the deputy tried to serve a search warrant.

The deputy was shot in the upper arm. He was taken to Wake Forest Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

The K-9 required surgery.

The hostages were not hurt.

No word yet if the shooter has been arrested.
