GASTONIA, N.C. -- The U.S. Marshals Service, in conjunction with Charlotte-Mecklenburg police, arrested four people in connection with the theft of five weapons and other tactical police gear stolen from a Rowan County Sheriff's Deputy's patrol car.

Authorities arrested 21-year-old Charles Nance, 22-year-old Donte Rashad Hill, 21-year-old Issac Yankson Kargbo and 23-year-old Roger Rios on Monday by U.S. Marshals and CMPD as the pair passed through Mecklenburg County.

A Rowan County Sheriff's Deputy was attending a training conference at a Gastonia hotel when the trunk of his patrol vehicle was broken into and weapons and tactical gear were stolen back in January.

Stolen items include a Glock model 23, .40 semi-automatic handgun with night sights, a Steamlight TRL-1 Tac light, a Safariland Glock drop leg ALS holster, a Smith and Wesson M&P15 .223 fully automatic rifle, a Remington .308, a model 700 LTR Police Sniper rifle with scope, bipod and hard case and two police tactical vests.

Authorities say a second patrol vehicle that belongs to the High Point Police Department was also broken in to and items stolen. Gastonia police released a picture of the suspect vehicle.

All four are charged with two counts of breaking or entering into a motor vehicle, and two counts of felony larceny, along with once count of conspiracy.
